A water-based emulsion containing a fluoride compound/resin mixture. Produces a dry, colorless film with an extremely low coefficient of friction and excellent lubricating properties. Provides outstanding mandrel release performance across various hose constructions and compounds.

Product Details: Aqueous emulsion of fluoride/resin mixture. Produces a dry, colorless film with very low coefficient of friction and good lubricating properties. Provides mandrel release for various hose constructions and compounds.

Product Application: MAC-419 is designed for application onto clean, dry mandrel surfaces. May be diluted with water depending on the application method and specific processing characteristics of the hose compound and construction. Begin with a clean, dry mandrel. All previous mandrel lubricants and compound residues should be removed by an appropriate method. McLube Mold Cleaner may be used. MAC-419 can be applied by spraying, wiping, dipping, or even flow coating to form a thin film over the entire mandrel surface. For previously bare mandrels, two coats should be applied. Once the mandrel has passed through the system once, only one coat needs to be applied. The coating of MAC-419 will dry within 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the application technique used. Spray application will accelerate drying time. External heat sources can be used to further facilitate drying. Although it is recommended that MAC-419 be dry before tubing, some manufacturers tube immediately without adverse effects. The specific handling characteristics of the tube compound and hose construction will influence whether the coating needs to be dry.
